GREENCORE GROUP PLC ("GREENCORE") - STATEMENT REGARDING MALT BUSINESS

Greencore is a leading international producer of convenience foods but also operates a strong, well invested, market leading, Malt business in England, Scotland, Ireland and Belgium. Following recent media speculation, the Board of Greencore today confirms that it has, in the recent past, received a number of unsolicited approaches in respect of its Malt business from international ingredients companies with large-scale malting businesses. These approaches are being explored. However, at this stage there can be no certainty that a transaction will be forthcoming.
