On 31 July 2008 Tullett Prebon announced that it was at the early stages of discussions regarding a possible combination with GFI Group, Inc ("GFI").

Tullett Prebon has been unable to reach agreement with GFI on satisfactory terms for a potential combination. Accordingly, discussions between the two parties have ceased.
