Embargoed until 7.00 a.m. 31 August 2006 RECOMMENDED PROPOSALS for the acquisition of HARDYS & HANSONS P.L.C. by Greene King Acquisitions (No. 3) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GREENE KING PLC to be effected by means of Schemes of Arrangement under section 425 of the Companies Act 1985 Hardys & Hansons today announces that, in accordance with AIM requirements,trading in Hardys & Hansons Ordinary Shares, First Preference Shares and SecondPreference Shares will be suspended with effect from 7:00am on Monday 4thSeptember 2006, pending the outcome of the Court Hearing on Monday 4th September2006 to sanction the Schemes and the Reduction of Capital. It is intended that, following the Court Hearing, Hardys & Hansons OrdinaryShares and Preference Shares will cease to be admitted to trading on AIM on theEffective Date, which is expected to be Tuesday 5th September 2006. Consequently, the last day of trading in Hardys & Hansons Ordinary Shares, FirstPreference Shares and Second Preference Shares will be Friday 1st September2006.
