Smurfit Kappa Group plc ('SKG') notes media commentary in relation to its former US associate, Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation (SSCC).
In 2002, the former Jefferson Smurfit Group (JSG) now part of SKG, distributed its 29.5% shareholding in SSCC, to its shareholders, as part of the privatisation of JSG which completed in October, 2002. SKG has no shareholding in SSCC and both companies are totally independent of one another.
