Telit Communications PLC17 August 2005 Press Release 17 August 2005 Telit Communications plc ("Telit" or "the Company") Telit enhances offering with new RoHS compliant products Telit Communications plc (AIM:TCM), the global wireless communications developerand distributor, announces that its GSM/GPRS products the Trizium-Quad andGM862-Quad modules have GPRS Class 10 capability and are now certified as RoHScompliant. This conforms to the European Union Restriction of HazardousSubstances (RoHS) directive (EU Directive 2002/95/EG). The directive states thatas of 1 July 2006 no new electrical or electronic equipment may contain lead,mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) orpolybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE). Telit is currently introducing its RoHS compliant products to the market. Thiswill enable all of Telit's customers to be RoHS compliant by June 2006 when thedirective will be fully enforced. All new products will be fully compatible withTelit's existing solutions, making migration to RoHS faster and simpler. By adding GSM 850 capability to the Trizium and GM862-PCS, the Trizium-Quad andGM862-Quad will enable worldwide machine-to-machine ("M2M") wirelesscommunications. This boosts the already high level of integration of Trizium andGM862-PCS and enlarges the cost-effective M2M solutions that Telit offers to itscustomers. By delivering improved performances, the Trizium-Quad and GM862-Quadwill speed up the rapid deployment and success of M2M applications worldwide.Production of Trizium-Quad and GM862-Quad will commence by October 2005 withproducts being shipped by the end of 2005. Telit has a full line of M2M GSM/GPRS products based on its proprietarytechnology. Telit's modules are suitable for a variety of applications such asremote metering and monitoring, vending machines, security systems, fleetmanagement and Point of Sales ("POS") terminals. Telit is also pleased to announce the opening of new satellite offices in theUK, Spain and Denmark to add to its existing distribution network. These newsatellite offices will enable Telit to meet growing demand for its products inthese respective markets.
