Statement re Credit Rating

13 June 2006Rolls-Royce plc credit rating upgraded to `A-' Stable outlook by S&PStandard & Poor's Ratings Services (S&P) has confirmed that it has raised itslong-term credit rating on Rolls-Royce plc to `A-` from `BBB+'. This representsthe second upgrade by S&P in the last fourteen months.The agency stated that it was "reflecting progress made by Rolls-Royce instrengthening its financial profile and our expectation that an improvedtrading environment should allow the group to maintain credit metrics at alevel commensurate with an `A-` rating"The agency also confirmed a `stable' outlook for the new Rolls-Royce rating.Notes to editors: 1. It is investing in core technology, capability and infrastructure that can be applied across these sectors to take a competitive range of products to market.
