Ottakar's PLC30 March 2006 OTTAKAR'S PLC The Board of Ottakar's plc ("Ottakar's") has noted the announcement by theCompetition Commission ("CC") that it has provisionally concluded that a mergerof Ottakar's and HMV Group plc would not lead to a substantial lessening ofcompetition in the market for the retail sale of new books to consumers in anypart of the UK. The Board awaits publication of the CC's final report which is due by 22 May2006.
