ITV plc statement on OFT announcement
ITV plc notes the announcement by the Office of Fair Trading that the anticipated joint venture between ITV, BBC Worldwide Limited and Channel Four Television Corporation (known as "Project Kangaroo") has been referred to the Competition Commission.
ITV intends to co-operate fully with the Competition Commission in order to minimise any delay in launching a service which ITV is confident will provide real value to UK online users and advertisers. However the reference process is likely to take several months and the service is therefore unlikely to launch on the previously anticipated timetable.
