29.11.2017 - Report 62/2017: Standing of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority regarding the buffer of another systemically significant institution for Bank Pekao S.A.
The Management Board of Bank Polska Kasa Opieki Spółka Akcyjna ("Bank") informs that on November 29, 2017 it received a decision from the Polish Financial Supervision Authority ("KNF"), in which the KNF in administrative proceeding requests the Financial Stability Committee to give an opinion on:
1. repeal in full of the point 2 of the KNF decision of October 4, 2016, no DAZ / 7105/3/5/2016, in which the KNF identified the Bank as other systemically important institution and imposed on the Bank, on an individual and consolidated basis, buffer of other systemically important institution in amount of 0.75% of the total risk exposure calculated in accordance with art. 92 par. 3 of Regulation (EU) no 575/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 June 2013 on prudential requirements for credit institutions and investment firms and amending Regulation (EU) No 648/2012 with further amendments ("CRR"), as reported by the Management Board in Report 22/2016 of October 5, 2016, and
2. impose on the Bank a buffer of other systemically important institution, which is set in accordance with art. 38 of the Act of 5 August 2015 regarding macro-prudential supervision over financial system and crisis management in financial system - in amount of 0.50% of the total risk exposure amount calculated in accordance with art. 92 par. 3 CRR
Information concerning final decision on setting the buffer will be announced by the Management Board in a separate report.
