THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT FOR RELEASE, PUBLICATION OR DISTRIBUTION IN OR INTO THEUNITED STATES, CANADA, JAPAN OR AUSTRALIA. 6 October, 2006 Stabilisation Notice Mapeley Limited (the "Company") Offer (the "Offer") of 2,615,385 Ordinary Shares of no par value at a price ofGBP 32.50 per Ordinary Share (with over-allotment arrangements in respect of up to 261,538 Ordinary Shares) Merrill Lynch International notifies you that it is the stabilising manager inrespect of the Offer announced on 6 October 2006 and that it and its affiliatesmay conduct stabilising activities in relation to the Ordinary Shares inconnection with the Offer. Merrill Lynch International confirms the following: 1. The securities to be stabilised are the Ordinary Shares (ISIN:GB00B0BHCR03) referred to above. There are no associated instruments that aresubject to stabilisation; 2. The stabilising manager is Merrill Lynch International (Contact: MarkGwynne; Telephone: 020 7995 3700); 3. Stabilisation transactions may occur during the stabilisation period,which is expected to commence at 8.00 am on 6 October 2006 and will end at closeof business on 3 November 2006; 4. The issue price of the Ordinary Shares (the "Issue Price") is GBP32.50 per Ordinary Share; and 5. In connection with the Offer, Merrill Lynch International, asstabilising manager, has entered into over-allotment arrangements with theCompany pursuant to which it may acquire, or procure acquirors for, up to261,538 Ordinary Shares at the Offer Price, for the purpose of allowing MerrillLynch International to cover short positions resulting from sales effected by itduring the stabilisation period.
