Sports Direct forces an apology from Daily Telegraph

Statement from Sports Direct:

Sport Direct notes that the Telegraph Media, publisher of the Daily Telegraph, has both amended and apologised for a completely inaccurate story that was first published on its website last Wednesday evening.

The article falsely claimed that a majority of Sports Direct institutional shareholders voted against the company's Remuneration policy at its Annual General Meeting, held on Wednesday afternoon. In fact this resolution was approved by 86% of the shareholders and by 59% of all shareholders even if the shareholding of our executive deputy chairman Mike Ashley is for some bizarre reason excluded.

‎We note that the Daily Telegraph website has corrected their mistake and apologised.
