DEBENHAMS PLC
SPONSORED LEVEL 1 ADR PROGRAMME
Debenhams plc, the leading department stores group, today announces that it will sponsor an American Depositary Receipt (ADR) programme. This will replace the current unsponsored ADR programmes.
Citigroup has been appointed depositary for the Level 1 ADR programme which will start trading today.
Each ADR will represent four ordinary shares of Debenhams plc. The ADRs will trade on the "Over The Counter" market under the symbol DBHSY US.
ADRs allow US investors to buy shares in foreign companies without the need for cross-border or cross-currency transactions. They are priced and pay any dividends in dollars and can be traded like the shares of US-based companies.
