CATHAY INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS LTD.
Special General Meeting on 19 April 2010
Directors to Attend by Videoconference due to closure of UK Airspace
16 April 2010: Cathay International Holdings Ltd. (LSE: CTI.L) ("Cathay" or the "Company") announces today that further to the announcement of the Special General Meeting of shareholders ("SGM") made on 1 April 2010, Cathay's Directors will now attend the SGM by way of videoconference at the scheduled time at 11.00am on Monday, 19 April 2010.
This is a consequence of the ongoing closure of UK airspace, due to drifting ash from an erupting volcano in Iceland, currently preventing Cathay's Directors from travelling to London to attend the SGM in person.
As set out in the notice convening the SGM, Cathay's shareholders are invited to attend at the offices of Piper Jaffray Ltd., One South Place, London EC2M 2RB.
Cathay's bye-laws include a provision for holding Special General Meetings by any means of such telephone, electronic, or other communication facilities as permit all persons participating in the meeting to communicate with each other simultaneously and instantaneously and participation in such a meeting shall constitute presence in person at such meeting.
