North River Resources plc ('North River' or 'the Company')

Snowden Appointed for Feasibility Study

North River Resources is pleased to announce that it has appointed Snowden Mining Industry Consultants - UK ('Snowden'), the integrated mining consulting group, to complete a comprehensive Feasibility Study on the previously producing Namib Lead Zinc Project ('Namib'). The scope of work encompasses all aspects of the project through to the application for a Mining Licence. This includes important near-term work to increase the current JORC Resources on the project.

Work will start immediately. A team from Snowden will be making a site visit to Namib next week. Early work will involve desktop reviews of the tailings dump, ore in-situ within the historic mine structure and of the Northern ore lodes, to ascertain Resources on each.

The work programme also incorporates reviewing tailings retreatment, designing drill programmes for resource enhancement in and around the mine, mine design and scheduling, ventilation, metallurgy, process flowsheets, and a detailed cash flow model, to draw together a project-wide feasibility study. In terms of the three stage plan set out in the Managing Director's statement which accompanied the final results announced on 26 June 2013, the appointment of Snowden marks the commencement of Stage Two, on schedule. The Company looks forward to providing updates of these works as the project moves forward.

Namib is a brownfield lead, zinc and silver mine, near Swakopmund in Namibia, which was closed in 1992 due to falling commodity prices. After reviewing its project data and economics, North River has also increased the base case production levels upon re-opening of the mine from 200,000 tpa to 250,000 tpa.

Martin French, Managing Director, said "The engagement of a single consulting group to advise on all aspects of the project is an important step forward for the development of Namib. It provides us with a clear structure and timeframe for the project, which we are now moving up through the gears."
