Smiths Dowty Propellers Signs Support Contract with Flybe Airlines

SMITHS Aerospace business Dowty Propellers, part of the globaltechnology business Smiths Group, has signed a long-term propellersupport agreement with Flybe Airlines for the Dash 8 Q400 passengeraircraft fleet. £ Flybe will operate up to 66 of the Q400 aircraft. The contract isworth more than GBP 9m ($16m) and support will commence in the firstquarter of 2007. Smiths Dowty Propellers repair facility in Gloucesterwill supply global support and programme management for the project. £ Jonathan Chestney, President of the Smiths Aerospace DowtyPropeller business, said: "Flybe is a leader in maximising theeffectiveness of the Q400 aircraft.
