Moscow, Russia - Sistema (the "Group") (LSE:SSA), the largest diversified public financial corporation in Russia and the CIS, which invests in and is a major shareholder in companies operating in different industries, today announced that it has reduced its equity stake in ANK Bashneft JSC ("Bashneft") from 55.67% to 50.90%. In addition, Sistema has reduced its stake in Sistema-Invest JSC from 65.00% to 19.99%, with a buy-back option, as part of an internal restructuring process.
The reduction in the level of ownership in both companies is due to the terms and conditions for the financing of the acquisition of controlling stakes in Bashkir Oil and Energy Group agreed in April 2009.
