("GSInc") and its subsidiary companies were interested, by attribution only, in atotal of 4,912,220 ordinary shares in Faroe Petroleum, which represents 6.67 percent of the total issued share capital of the Company. Of the 4,912,220 ordinary shares, an interest in 3,623,220 ordinary shares arosefrom an interest held by Goldman Sachs & Co., a wholly-owned direct subsidiaryof GS Inc, acting as custodian for its customers and an interest in 1,289,000ordinary shares arose from a beneficial interest held by Goldman SachsInternational, a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of GS Inc.
