Signature Flight Support acquires two new locations

BBA Aviation plc announces that Signature Flight Support ("Signature"), part of the BBA Aviation Flight Support division, has agreed to acquire Avitat Boca Raton, a fixed base operation ("FBO") at Boca Raton Airport, Florida for a cash consideration of $21m on a debt and cash free basis.

Located in the US resort city of Boca Raton, this new location is an important addition to Signature's network and will be Signature's third FBO in South Florida, a key business and general aviation ("B&GA") destination. The FBO, constructed in 2005, incorporates a 17,000 sq. ft. state of the art terminal and 72,000 sq. ft. of hangarage. Boca Raton Airport is a real estate constrained B&GA airfield with one other FBO on the field.

In addition, Signature has completed the acquisition of Tropical Aviation Corporation in San Juan, Puerto Rico for a cash consideration of $3m, expanding Signature's footprint in to the Caribbean. The Tropical Aviation FBO is based at the Isla Grande-Fernando L. Ribas Dominicci Airport, San Juan's B&GA airport. The airport features a dedicated U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility, drawing international flights from South America en route to the United States.

It is also announced today that Signature has disposed of the loss making Spirit of St. Louis FBO and maintenance centre in Missouri for a cash consideration of $3.25m. The Spirit of St. Louis facility has been sold to TAC Air, an existing operator on the field.
