Cluff Gold PLC23 February 2005 23 February 2005 AIM: CLF Initial Drill Results Intersect High Grades at Baomahun Gold Project in Sierra Leone Cluff Gold Plc ("Cluff Gold" or "the Company") announces the first set ofdrilling results from the Baomahun Gold Prospect ("Baomahun") in Sierra Leone,where up to 5,000 metres of drilling is planned during the next four months. Assay results from the first two completed core holes have confirmed down dipextension of mineralisation intersected in drill hole C25, drilled in the 1970s.This hole intersected 34.23 metres of gold at 7.56 g/t from 42.58 metres downhole depth. Recently this mineralization has been intersected at a verticaldepth of 90 and 130 metres from surface in holes DDH02 and DDH01 respectively. DDH01 intersected 30 metres of gold at 4.68g/t from 106 metres down hole. Theintersection includes 13 metres at 9.57g/t and 2 metres at 29.75g/t. DDH02 intersected 20 metres of gold at 2.72 g/t from 75 metres down the hole.The intersection includes 8 metres at 5.67g/t. The Company plans to release assay results, which are judged to be significant,on a timely basis as they are received during the next four months of drilling.The final drill report will be published on completion of the programme. In addition, the Company recently completed a 1,592 kilometres helicopter bornemagnetic and radiometric geophysical survey covering the 137.8 square kilometresBaomahun and Victoria licences. The results of this survey have been receivedand are currently being interpreted. It is expected that the interpretationwill assist with further regional target generation in the two contiguouslicence areas. The two licences have recently been renewed for a further oneyear renewable term as per the country's mining laws. Mr J G Cluff, Chairman and Chief Executive of Cluff Gold plc comments, "Theseinitial encouraging results confirm our belief that Baomahun could be asignificant gold project. We are happy with the progress made so far and lookforward to announcing further drilling results in the near future." At the recent Mines and Money World Congress in London, Sierra Leone receivedthe Country Award. The award was for the country that had shown the mostimprovement, in terms of attractiveness to mineral investors, during the past 12months. The other finalists in this category were Canada, Mongolia, Senegal,Thailand and Zambia. Background on Baomahun Baomahun is located about 180 kilometres east of the capital, Freetown, in theSouthern Province of Sierra Leone and the geological setting is similar to theLake Victoria goldfields in Tanzania. Cluff Gold has an agreement with theowner of Baomahun, Winston Mines Limited, giving the Company the right to own upto a 60 per cent. interest by funding the project to the completion of abankable feasibility study or to a maximum of US$5 million.
