Sheffield Council extends contract with Capita

20 January 2015 Extension to Capita's partnership with Sheffield City Council Capita plc (`Capita') announces today that Sheffield City Council has chosen toextend its existing seven-year transformation partnership with Capita, whichcommenced in January 2009, by up to a further six years, as allowed by theinitial contract. This follows approval by the Council's cabinet on November12, 2014. The extension of the contract will generate additional revenue toCapita of approximately £140 - £170 million and will run from January 2016 toJanuary 2022. Under the terms of the extension, Capita will continue to deliver the corerange of services on behalf of the Council, including ICT, revenues, benefits,HR and payroll and financial business transactions. Capita will also provide additional business change capacity where it will workin partnership with the Council to define and deliver projects designed toraise revenue and save money. The partnership has identified the potential togenerate significant additional savings for the Council over the life of theextended contract.
