Johnston Press plc, one of the leading regional media groups in the UK and Ireland, announces that Ashley Highfield, who will join the Company as its new Chief Executive Officer and as a Director of the Company on 1 November 2011, purchased 188,074 ordinary shares at a price of 5.28p per share on 23 September 2011 and a further 189,149 ordinary shares at a price of 5.25p per share on 26 September 2011. He now holds a total of 377,223 ordinary shares representing 0.059 per cent of the Company's issued share capital.
