Settlement of Legal Costs
Clarksons, the world's leading integrated shipping services group, announced on 4 November 2011 the Court of Appeal's decision to deny the claimant (Yuri Nikitin) leave to appeal in the cases between Mr Nikitin and H. Clarkson & Co. Limited ("the Company") and the subsequent awarding of costs to the Company.
A settlement regarding the final costs of this matter has been reached and a further £1.2m of costs have now been received by the Company. Together with the £2m previously announced, a total of £3.2m of income will be accounted for as an exceptional item in the accounts for the year ended 31 December 2011.
The discussions related to the costs of this matter are now concluded.
