Marks & Spencer Group PLC25 April 2007 Issued: 25 April 2007 Marks and Spencer Group plc ("Marks & Spencer") announces new Director of Food, Director of International and other senior management changes Marks & Spencer is pleased to announce a number of senior management changes toposition the Company for the next phase of its growth. Steven Esom is to join Marks & Spencer as Director of Food. He was mostrecently Managing Director of Waitrose. He will join the business on 1 June2007. Carl Leaver is to join Marks & Spencer as Director of International Business.He was previously CEO of De Vere Group plc. He will join the Company on 14 May2007. Richard Wolff, the current Director of International Business, is toretire after 36 years' service with the Company. Steven and Carl will both join Marks & Spencer's Executive Committee. Guy Farrant, currently Director of Food, is appointed Director of Retail andOutlets. Anthony Thompson, the current Director of Retail is leaving theCompany. Kate Bostock, Director of Womenswear and Girlswear takes on additionalresponsibility for Lingerie. Matt Hudson, Director of Lingerie will becomeDirector of Trading for Womenswear, Lingerie and Girlswear. We are also pleased to announce three new Director roles within the FoodDivision, which will report to the Director of Food. The following are beingpromoted to these roles: Dominic Morrey is appointed Commercial Director ofMarket, Grocery & Events; Jim Waller is appointed Commercial Director ofPrepared & Hospitality and David Gregory is appointed Technical Director. Following these changes, the responsibilities of the three Executive Directorshave been re-aligned. Stuart Rose will continue to manage the trading functionsof the business and will add International to his direct reports. With the storere-modernisation programme well underway, Ian Dyson will now be responsible forStore Design and Development and Procurement, alongside his currentresponsibilities for Finance, Property and IT. Steven Sharp remains responsiblefor Marketing and the M&S Money relationship with HSBC and will also focus onthe next generation of store design.
