BRIT Insurance Holdings PLC04 May 2006 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 4 May 2006 Brit Insurance Holdings PLC Appointment of UK Underwriting Centre Director Brit Insurance Holdings PLC ("Brit" or "the Group"), the UK-based internationalgeneral insurer and reinsurer, today announces the appointment of Peter Burrowsas UK Underwriting Centre Director. He will also join Brit's ExecutiveManagement Committee ("EMC"). Peter Burrows will join Brit in early July after five years at Zurich UKCommercial, one of the most successful units in the Zurich global portfolio,where he was Managing Director. Prior to this, he spent over twenty years atRoyal & Sun Alliance, latterly as Director of UK Regions. The role of the UK Underwriting Centre Director replaces Brit's UK ManagingDirector post, which was previously held by Brent Escott. Mr Escott takes up anew position within Brit as Director of Special Projects reporting directly tothe Group CEO, with a particular emphasis on the UK small business sector.
