Senior Management Appointment

John Menzies plc, the global aviation services business, today announces the appointment of Mervyn Walker to the Group's senior management team.

Mervyn, who has over 30 years' experience in the ground handling industry, is returning to the Group after spending four years working on a selection of projects and initiatives in the sector. Prior to this, spent 14 years at Menzies working in a number of senior operational posts. Mervyn will work closely with Interim Chief Executive, Giles Wilson and focus on operational discipline, cost control and productivity.

Menzies has invested significantly in systems and processes over the last three years and the Group is now focusing on targeted and successful deployment of these tools to ensure bottom line benefits are delivered. Mervyn will work with the team to deliver these benefits whilst also focusing on operational efficiency and his appointment builds on a management review that is already underway looking at operating costs and driving out efficiencies across the organisation.

Menzies continues to pursue its exciting plans to grow its business both organically and through synergistic acquisitions. The short-term focus is on growth in our core markets, leveraging on customer relationships and our industry leading platform of safety and security to develop new business and improve margins.
