SABMiller PLC17 July 2006 SABMiller - Senior Appointments London and Johannesburg, 17 July 2006. SABMiller plc announced today thatNorman Adami, currently President and CEO of Miller Brewing Company, has beenpromoted to the position of President and CEO of SABMiller Americas, effective 1August 2006. In his new role, Adami will assume overall strategic responsibility forSABMiller's existing businesses in North, Central and South America. Thesebusinesses are expected to account for almost 40% of group volumes and 50% ofsales revenues this fiscal year, and Adami's mandate is to ensure theappropriate strategies are in place to deliver sustainable, long-term growth. Tom Long, currently Chief Marketing Officer of Miller, has been appointed asPresident and Chief Executive Officer of Miller, reporting to Adami. Long willalso join the SABMiller plc Executive Committee, effective 1 August 2006. Theannouncement of a Chief Marketing Officer and additional appointments at Millerwill be made later today from Milwaukee. Barry Smith, President of SABMiller South America remains a member of theSABMiller plc Executive Committee and will report to Adami in his new capacity.Trent Odgers, Managing Director of SABMiller Central America continues to reportto Adami. Gary Whitlie, the Managing Director of Miller Brands (UK) Limited, thesubsidiary managing the Company's International Brands in the UK market,currently reporting to Adami, will now report to Alan Clark, Managing Directorof Europe. Adami has spent virtually his entire career inthe beer industry. Adami joined SAB Ltd. in South Africa in 1979, and wasquickly promoted to a number of increasingly senior positions before ultimatelybeing appointed managing director in 1994. In 1995, he was appointed to theboard of SAB plc and appointed chairman of South African Breweries Ltd. in 2000.During the nine years he led SAB Ltd, Adami was credited with growing thecompany's market share in South Africa to unprecedented heights.
