Pan African Resources PLC (Incorporated and registered in England and Wales under Companies Act 1985 withregistered number 3937466 on 25 February 2000) Share code on AIM: PAF Share code on JSE: PAN ISIN: GB0004300496 ("Pan African") Section 54 Notices of orders at Barberton Mines and Evander Gold Mines Pan African shareholders are advised that on Thursday, 13 November 2014,operations at Barberton Mines ("Barberton") were suspended by the Mine Healthand Safety Inspectorate ("MHSI") of the South African Department of MineralResources. This was as a result of a Section 54 notice of orders that wasissued after deviations were identified by the MHSI in respect of certainoperating procedures and administrative processes pertaining to the Fairviewlamp room, self-rescuers and gas monitors. Management, together with the mine's Safety and Health Committee ("SHC"), havesince corrected the deviations, and action plans were presented to the MHSI. OnWednesday, 19 November 2014, the Section 54 notice of orders was set aside. On Tuesday, 18 November 2014, following an unplanned/unannounced site visit toEvander Gold Mines ("Evander"), the MHSI issued a Section 54 notice of ordersfor similar deviations in the lamp room, suspending all underground operations.These deviations were attended to and subsequently on Thursday, 20 November2014, the MHSI set this notice of orders aside. The issuance of these orders will impact gold production at Barberton andEvander for the month of November 2014, which is not quantified at this stage. Together with all stakeholders, including the SHC, employee representatives andthe communities in which it operates, Pan African continually strives to reduceaccidents and to address any health and safety shortcomings, in an effort tooperate the mines safely in a conducive environment.
