Home Retail Group Plc24 October 2006 DISCLOSURE OF INTEREST IN SHARES UNDER SECTION 198 Home Retail Group plc ("the Company") has today received a notification fromGoldman Sachs International advising that with effect from close of business on19 October 2006 The Goldman Sachs Group Inc ("GSG") no longer had a disclosableinterest in the ordinary shares in the Company. The notification was issued pursuant to Sections 198 to 202 of the Companies Act1985 and was dated 23 October 2006.
