Sancton Hill Wind Farm operational

 

 

Renewable Energy Generation Limited (AIM: WIND), the UK renewable energy group, today announces that its 10MW Sancton Hill Wind Farm in the East Riding of Yorkshire has entered commercial electricity production.

 

The project consists of 5 Vestas 2MW Gridstreamer turbines and will produce around 28,500MWh of clean electricity annually, increasing REG's existing output by more than 25%.

 

Construction work has also commenced on REG's 6MW South Sharpley scheme in County Durham, with completion expected later in 2012.

 

Andrew Whalley, REG Chief Executive Officer, said: "Sancton Hill has been completed on time and to budget and with an excellent wind resource will provide many years of sustainable energy. Sancton Hill increases REG's operational projects to 51MW generating around 135,000MWh of clean energy per annum."
