MATERIAL FACT
Grupo Santander hereby announces that is has sold shares representing 1.9% of the share capital of Banco Santander - Chile, for a total consideration of USD 291 million. This transaction generates a capital gain for Banco Santander of approximately Euro 110 million, entirely accounted for as reserves. Following the transaction, Banco Santander holds a 75% stake in the share capital of Banco Santander - Chile.
