Sergey Dubinin elected Chairman of VTB Bank Supervisory Council

On 16 June 2011, JSC VTB Bank Supervisory Council elected Sergey Dubinin as its Chairman.

In light of the election, Andrey Kostin, President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board, said: "Sergey Dubinin is a high-class professional. I'm sure he will not only successfully head the Supervisory Council, but will also contribute to VTB Group business by attracting new investors and customers."

For reference:

Sergey Dubinin started his career in Lomonosov Moscow State University (1976-1991), where he worked as a Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Junior Research Associate and Associate Professor of the Department of Economics.

In 1991-1992, he was Economics Expert at the Executive Office of the USSR President.

In 1992-1993, he was Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Committee for Economic Cooperation with the CIS countries.

From March 1993 to January 1994, Mr. Dubinin was First Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation.

From January to October 1994, he was Acting Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation.

From November 1994 to October 1995, Sergey Dubinin worked as First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Imperial Commercial Bank, where he supervised OJSC Gazprom, the Bank's major shareholder and customer.

In August 1995, he was appointed member of the Management Committee of OJSC Gazprom.

From October 1995 to September 1998, Mr. Dubinin was Chairman of the Bank of Russia.

In October 1998, he was Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of OJSC Gazpromin charge of project finance, banks and securities.

In 2001, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the RAO UES Board of Directors.

Since 2004, he has been Member of the RAO UES Board of Directors; from 2005 to 2008 he served as Chief Financial Officer of the RAO UES.

Since 2008, he has been member of the Board of Directors of CJSC VTB Capital.

Sergey Dubinin graduated with honors from Lomonosov Moscow State University (1973) as Economist, Teacher of Political Economy. Mr. Dubinin received his Ph.D. in Economics in 1977 (thesis: "Agricultural Loans in the USA). He also holds a Doctor degree in Economics (1990; thesis: "Budget and Financial Regulation of Economics and its Impact on the Competitiveness of Capitalist Economies").
