Retirement of Non-Executive Director

Sovereign Mines of Africa PLC announces that at the Annual General Meeting held today, James Comyn a Non-Executive Director of the Company decided not to seek re-election.

David Pearl, Chairman commented: "James' contribution to the foundation and early development of the Company has been hugely important and we wish him well for the future."
