Retirement of Non-Executive Director
Millennium & Copthorne Hotels plc today announces the retirement of independent non-executive Director, Connal Rankin, for health reasons.
Mr Rankin, 69, was appointed as an independent non-executive Director of the Group in December, 2007, after a distinguished career with HSBC, including the role of Group General Manager of Human Resources between 2000 and 2005.
At Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, Mr. Rankin was Chairman of the Board's Remuneration Committee. Following his retirement, the Group has appointed Alexander Waugh to this role with immediate effect. Mr. Waugh, 47, was appointed as an independent non-executive Director of the Group in June, 2009.
Kwek Leng Beng, Chairman of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels plc, said, "I thank Connal for his valuable service to the Group over the past four years. The Board extends its sympathy at this difficult time and wishes him a full return to health. We have begun our search for an independent non-executive Director to succeed Connal and will announce that appointment in due course."
