Retirement of Executive Director
Meggitt PLC ("Meggitt" or "the Group"), a leading international company specialising in high performance components and sub-systems for the aerospace, defence and selected energy markets, today announces that Philip Green, Executive Director, Commercial & Corporate Affairs, has advised the Group of his intention to retire from the Board at the end of December 2019. Philip has served on the Board for 18 years and is currently responsible for legal, commercial, trade compliance and government relations matters. During his tenure, Philip has also had responsibility for a range of other matters, including the company secretariat, risk management, insurance, business continuity, ethics and business conduct. Philip, who has worked for Meggitt for 25 years, will continue as an employee until the end of March 2020.
Philip Green will not be succeeded on the Board of Directors. Andrew Garard will join Meggitt as Group General Counsel and Director, Corporate Affairs on 16 September 2019, working closely with the Board and responsible for legal, commercial, trade compliance and other matters and will be a member of the Group's Executive Committee. Andrew previously worked at Clifford Chance and Freshfields, led the legal teams at Reuters and Cable & Wireless and, most recently, was Group Legal Director, General Counsel and Company Secretary at ITV.
