Max Petroleum PLC02 January 2008 Max Petroleum Plc Production Resumed in Zhana Makat Field 2 January 2008 Max Petroleum Plc (the "Company") announced today that the Company resumedproduction from the Zhana Makat field after receiving approval of its gasutilisation plan by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and obtaininggas flaring permits from the local regulatory authorities for the calendar yearsending 31 December 2007 and 2008, respectively.
