Result of General Meeting

A general meeting of Johnston Press plc (the "Company") was held at 10.00 a.m. on 11 January 2017 at the offices of Ashurst LLP, Broadwalk House, 5 Appold Street, London EC2A 2HA.

The ordinary resolution relating to the disposal of the entire issued share capital of Johnston Publishing East Anglia Limited (the "Resolution"), as set out in the notice of general meeting contained in the circular sent to shareholders on 21 December 2016, was duly passed on a poll.

The total number of shares in issue at the record date and time for voting was 105,877,777. Proxy appointments were received from shareholders holding an aggregate of 64,836,957 shares, representing 61.24 per cent. of the issued share capital.

The table below shows the votes received for and against the Resolution.

1 Any proxy appointments which gave discretion to the Chairman have been included in the "For" total.

2 A "vote withheld" is not a vote in law and is therefore not counted towards the proportion of votes "For" and "Against" the Resolution.

The voting figures will also shortly be available to view on the Company's website www.johnstonpress.co.uk. In accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.1R, a copy of the Resolution has been submitted to the National Storage Mechanism and will shortly be available for inspection at www.morningstar.co.uk/uk/NSM.
