Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) - Results

OAO Severstal announces the results of voting on the resolution proposed at the Extraordinary General Meeting held on 30 September 2008.
The following resolution was put to Severstal's shareholders on a poll at the Extraordinary General Meeting, and the results of voting were as follows: to approve the dividends for the first half of 2008 in the amount of 18.35 rubles per common share and per global depositary receipt ("GDR") payable before 29 November 2008 to shareholders on the share register record date of 20 August 2008. The starting date for payments is October 1, 2008.
Holders of the Company's GDRs may contact Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas as depositary for the related GDRs record date and payment date.
