At the Extraordinary General Meeting held at 11.00 a.m. today, the resolution to approve the cancellation of the trading of the Company's Shares of 40p each on AIM was approved unanimously on a show of hands. Proxies in respect of a total of 10,408,852 shares had been received, of which 9,140,852 voted in favour and 1,268,000 voted against the resolution. Accordingly the admission to trading on AIM will be cancelled with effect from 7.00 a.m. on Thursday 19th March 2009 and after that date Western's shares may only be traded on PLUS Markets.
At the same time the appointment of FinnCap as Nominated Advisers and Brokers to the Company will end. Loeb Aron & Company Ltd. will continue to act as the Company's PLUS Corporate Advisor.

Western is represented on the boards of three of its four Strategic Investments.
