Lonrho Africa PLC24 February 2006 Lonrho Africa Plc RESULT OF EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING AND BOARD APPOINTMENT The Directors of Lonrho Africa Plc ("Lonrho Africa" or "the Company") arepleased to announce that shareholders approved all the resolutions put forwardat the Company's Extraordinary General Meeting, which was held today. Lonrho Africa's newly-endorsed investment strategy will see the Companyre-establishing a significant presence on the African Continent. It is theBoard's intention to focus on making investments in the natural resources andinfrastructure sectors where suitable activities will include the mining ofadvanced precious metals, base metals and energy related projects such asuranium, oil and gas. Lonrho Africa is also pleased to announce the appointment of Emma Priestley asan Executive Director to the Board with immediate effect. Emma Kinder Priestley, 33, joins Lonrho Africa from Ambrian Partners, theinvestment bank specialising in natural resources, where she has worked since2004 as a corporate broker and adviser. Prior to that, Ms Priestley worked forVSA Resources in their research and equity sales departments. While herbackground is in mining engineering and mineral surveying, she made thetransition to mining research in 2001 when she joined Credit Suisse FirstBoston, as a mining analyst. Previously she was with IMC Mackay & Schnellmann,where she gained on-site experience working on major mining projects for theWorld Bank, European Union and various private sector organisations. Emma is agraduate of the Camborne School of Mines, with a BEng in Mineral Surveying andResources Management, and is currently President of the Southern Counties Branchof the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining.
