UMC Energy PLC23 August 2006 UMC ENERGY PLC 23 August 2006 DIRECTOR RESIGNATIONAND RESULTS OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The Board of UMC Energy plc (AIM : UEP) announce that Mr Rob Schoonbrood hasresigned as a non-executive director of the Company due to other workcommitments. Mr Cleary, the Chairman of the board, thanked Mr Schoonbrood forhis contribution to the Company, particularly during the period when MrSchoonbrood served as executive chairman. The Board announces further that other than the resolution to re-elect MrSchoonbrood as a director (which resolution was withdrawn following MrSchoonbrood's resignation) all resolutions put to shareholders at today's annualgeneral meeting were approved.
