Result of Annual General Meeting

Rurelec PLC (AIM: RUR), the electricity utility focused on ownership and operation of power generation plants in Latin America, announces the following results of the Company's Annual General Meeting, held earlier today:

Voting on each resolution was as follows:

· Resolution 1: 91.42 per cent of the votes cast being 303,115,303 shares voted against out of a possible total of 561,387,586 shares eligible to vote on this motion.

· Resolution 2: 91.44 per cent of the votes cast being 303,139,863 shares voted against out of a possible total of 561,387,586 shares eligible to vote on this motion.

· Resolution 3: 91.43 per cent of the votes cast being 303,153,323 shares voted against out of a possible total of 561,387,586 shares eligible to vote on this motion.

· Resolution 4: 91.50 per cent of the votes cast being 303,139,863 shares voted against out of a possible total of 561,387,586 shares eligible to vote on this motion.

· Resolution 5: 99.99 per cent in favour out of the votes cast being 331,278,368 shares voted in favour of a possible total of 561,387,586 shares eligible to vote on this motion.

· Resolution 6: 95.43 per cent of the votes cast being 316,153,323 shares voted against out of a possible total of 561,387,586 shares eligible to vote on this motion.

· Special Resolution 7: 95.36 per cent of the votes cast being 316,139,763 shares voted against out of a possible total of 561,387,586 shares eligible to vote on this motion.

As a result of the votes cast:

· Pablo Galante Escobar was not elected as Non-Executive Director

· Andrew J S Morris remains as General Manager of the Company but leaves the Board of Directors whilst retaining the management position

· Elizabeth R Shaw, Executive Director Project Finance, was not re-elected on the rotation
