JJB Sports PLC19 October 2006 JJB SPORTS PLC RESPONSE TO COURT OF APPEAL JUDGMENT The Court of Appeal has today given judgment dismissing JJB's appeal against theOFT and Competition Appeal Tribunal's findings that JJB infringed theCompetition Act 1998. The CAT imposed a penalty of £6.7m on JJB in its judgmentof 19 May 2005. JJB is naturally disappointed with this result and remains of the view that itdid not infringe competition law. JJB is considering its options along with itslegal advisers but will today apply to the Court of Appeal for leave to appealto the House of Lords on aspects of the judgment. JJB is obliged to take thisstep in order to preserve its right to petition the House of Lords should that be necessary.
