Sirius Petroleum (AIM:SRSP), the investing company focussed on oil and gas exploration and development opportunities in Nigeria, notes the press speculation regarding a potential fundraising of approximately US$20m and confirms it is in the final stages of reviewing a number of possible funding structures available to it through conditional offers received from a number of potential different providers.
The Company is pleased to confirm that, further to the announcement dated 21 June 2012, it continues to progress discussions regarding two Oil Blocks in Nigeria, with a view to executing definitive farm-in agreements in due course, and is working with existing shareholders and potential equity and debt providers to agree the most appropriate funding structure, from the offers available to it, to finance the farm-in and initial capital requirements of these exciting opportunities. There can be no guarantee that such discussions will be successfully concluded.
The Company will make further announcements regarding progress, as appropriate.
