Resignation of Margaret Young as Non-Executive Director
The AA plc, the UK's largest breakdown service, announces the resignation of Margaret Young as a Non-Executive Director of the Company for personal reasons. Margaret will leave the Board with immediate effect.
Andrew Miller, currently CEO of The Guardian Media Group and a Chartered Accountant who has recent and relevant financial experience, will assume the role of audit committee chair.
Bob Mackenzie, Executive Chairman of the AA, commented:
"We are sorry to see Margaret leave the Board of the AA. Margaret was one of the initial non-executives appointed at the time of the Management Buy-In and IPO last June and has served during a transformational period for the Company. We will miss her diligence, experience and insightful contributions.
Whilst the Board still has a majority of independent non-executive directors, we plan to commence a nomination committee process for the appointment of an additional independent non-executive director to replace Margaret."
