Resignation of a director

Central Rand Gold announces that non-executive director, Miklos Salamon, has tendered his resignation from the board of directors ("the Board") with immediate effect. As the Company had just completed its fundraising activities and as it focuses on the implementation of its new growth strategy, having been a board member for almost 7 years, Miklos felt that it was the appropriate time to step down from the Board.

Michael McMahon, Chairman of Central Rand Gold, commented: "I am proud to have served alongside Miklos in various parts of the mining industry for over 20 years. He introduced me to Central Rand Gold and I have observed at close quarters the significant contribution he has made in redirecting and stabilising the Company as it has overcome its challenges in implementing its mining and metallurgical methodology. I and the rest of the Board would like to thank him for his service and contribution to the Company."
