Ashley (Laura) Hldgs PLC06 January 2005 Laura Ashley Holdings plc ("the Company") The Company announces the resignation of Ainum Mohd-Saaid as Chief ExecutiveOfficer and director with effect from 1st February 2005 for personal reasons. Ata Board meeting today, it was decided that Lillian Tan will replace Ainum asChief Executive Officer. Lillian Tan (age 50) is currently a non-executive director of the Company. Sheholds an MBA from the University of Western Sydney, Australia, and is a Fellowof the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK). Since 2002, she has been the ManagingDirector and Chief Executive Officer of Metrojaya Berhad ("Metrojaya"), one ofthe most successful retailers in Malaysia. Metrojaya owns and operates fourdepartment stores, one hypermarket, and over sixty specialty stores with a totaltrading area of approximately one million square feet (approximately twice thatof Laura Ashley in the UK). Amongst the specialty stores, there are fourMetrojaya home stores under the name Living Quarters. Other in-house fashionlabels include East India Company, Cape Cod, Emmanuel and Passages.
