Armour Group plc ("Armour" or the "Group")
Resale Agreement
Armour, the UK's leading consumer electronics group focused on the in-car communications and entertainment and home entertainment markets, is pleased to announce that it has signed a resale and branding agreement with Stream TV Networks, Inc. ("Stream") to market and sell flat panel 4k displays incorporating Stream's Ultra-D™ 2160p technology. The Stream technology is capable of converting content from both2D and 3D with glasses into glasses-free 3D viewing. The Ultra-D™ technology uses the seeCube™ converter box to allow users to connect their satellite or cable service, Blu-ray player, XBOX™ or Playstation™ directly to the Ultra-D™ 4k screen to convert 1080p content to 2160p resolution as well as to deliver glasses-free 3D viewing.
The first products to be launched will be for commercial use and Armour has been granted limited exclusivity across Western Europe for the commercial market that includes clubs, restaurants, bars shopping centers and stadiums. Ultra-D™ is being launched using 50 inch, 4k ultra high definition display. The first production units are expected to be available in the third quarter of 2013.
George Dexter, Armour's Chief Executive, said:
"This is an exciting area of technology, which could potentially revolutionise the viewing of content across whole range of product categories including televisions, mobile phones, tablets and commercial display screens. We anticipate that this exclusive agreement with Stream will allow Armour to benefit from the roll out of this technology in the commercial market"
