Repayment of US$125,000,000 Subordinated Notes due 7 July 2016

Aberdeen Asset Management has today repaid in full the US$125,000,000 of 7.2% Subordinated Notes 2016 which were issued pursuant to a Note Purchase Agreement dated 7 July 2006. Repayment was effected in accordance with the Company's optional prepayment rights pursuant to the Note Purchase Agreement, and financed from the Group's cash resources. This repayment is a further step in the Group's strategy of using operating cashflow to enhance its balance sheet strength.
