 Renewal of Insurance Policy

On April 2, 2012, the BOD of Samsung Electronics approved renewal of the existing director & officers' liability insurance policy from Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance. This transaction is renewal of the existing contract which will expire on April 6, 2012.

- Insurance premium: KRW6.97 billion (April 6, 2012 ~April 6, 2013)

※ This disclosure is in accordance with the Korean Fair Trade Act, which mandates a

purchaser of insurance policy to disclose the transaction in case the transaction is

worth more than KRW 5billion and the insurance company involved is the

purchaser's financial affiliate.
