Redstone shortlisted for BSF

Redstone PLC01 August 2007 Redstone plc ("Redstone" or the "Group") Redstone shortlisted for Birmingham BSF 1 AUGUST 2007 - Redstone plc, the national IT and Communications solutionsprovider, announces today that as part of a consortium led by Catalyst LendLease & Bovis Lend Lease, it has been shortlisted for the Building Schools forthe Future ("BSF") programme in Birmingham. The Birmingham BSF project will be responsible for the complete rebuild orremodel of 75 Birmingham secondary schools (of which some will be BirminghamAcademies) and 14 special secondary schools (including pupil referral units).The estimated capital value of the project (including Information andCommunication Technology ("ICT")) is £820m. If successful, Redstone in partnership with the City Council will be supplying acomplete IT & Communications solution that will supply each school with a fullyintegrated IP network, communications, IT and e-learning environment. Subject toGovernment approval the project will be split into 6 phases, with Phase 1 (10secondary schools, 1 special secondary school and 1 primary school) starting in2009 and Phase 2 (13 schools) starting in 2010. As with the Lancashire BSF project, Redstone's Converged Solutions, ManagedSolutions and Technology Divisions are working to provide a complete integratedICT solution for the consortium. It is expected that the preferred bidder willbe announced in May 2008.
